Protecting the Corunna Bowling Club

I have visited the Corunna Bowling Club in Finnieston and have met with the local community charity, the Friends of St Vincent Crescent Conservation Area, around proposed development on the protected green space.
Protecting these urban green spaces are of paramount importance, and I am backing the local community's plan and bid for the land as part of the National Planning Framework to protect green spaces.
My Public Consultation on E-Bikes

I am currently examining whether authorities require new legislation regarding the removal of face coverings.
I am gathering community feedback about e-bike transit throughout Glasgow while building upon my previous research and insights from earlier public consultations I have conducted.
Road Traffic Police Visit

I recently spent time with the Police Scotland Road Policing team, seeing first hand the dangers of the illegal use of e-bikes and the impact they have on antisocial and criminal behaviour.
It was important to hear from representatives of Greater Glasgow's Violence Reduction Unit about the vital work being done to tackle this issue.
Future of the CCA

I have officially reached out to Creative Scotland to challenge the proposed private lease or sale of the Sauchiehall Street Centre for Contemporary Arts. Expressing my deep worry over the lack of permanent cultural protections for the venue, I am urging for immediate discussions with local artistic groups. Additionally, I have approached Cabinet Secretary Màiri McAllan to demand that this iconic building is protected as a public resource for all of Glasgow, rather than being handed over to private interests.
Opposition to vape shop next to Mackintosh Tearooms

The proposed vape shop next to the Charles Rennie Mackintosh tearooms on Sauchiehall Street is a dangerous threat to one of Glasgow's historic landmarks. In the last year, Glasgow has already experienced a devastating fire to Union Street and Central Station.
I have asked the Scottish Government to consider providing increased power to local authorities to ban vape shops from historic buildings.
Family 'C'

The serious case of Family C has brought to light profound child protection inadequacies within the social services department of Glasgow. I am currently demanding that local authorities and relevant bodies conduct a thorough and independent investigation to reveal the facts. I am advocating for Glasgow City Council to adopt robust safety measures and better assistance programs for the most at-risk children and families in our community. Residents require full transparency and a genuine promise of accountability to prevent such tragic systemic errors from occurring again.
